Petunjuk Penggunaan

Based on Memorandum of Cooperation signed in 2024, JST and BRIN aiming to promote and strengthen collaboration between researchers from Indonesia and Japan. Under the scope of this framework, BRIN and JST launch this Call for Proposals for research, jointly conceived and to be jointly implemented by researchers in Indonesia and Japan.

Japan aims to establish the world’s most advanced bioeconomy society by 2030 and promotes international cooperation in Bioenergy as a key strategy of its science and technology policy. Indonesia, through the spirit of Asta Cita, is committed to promoting and advancing bioenergy as a key pillar of national development, ensuring energy independence and environmental harmony for a sustainable future. This research collaboration aims to foster synergies between Japanese and Indonesian science and technology, promoting mutual growth and contributing to Bioenergy. Bioenergy is a research field that can significantly reduce environmental impacts while supporting economic and social resilience. In this joint research call, JST and BRIN are looking to support research within the following subtopics within the fields of ‘Bioenergy'.

Eligible entities:

An Indonesian research entity such as:

National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN);
Other Indonesian research institution with appropriate legal registration for example universities, industry, and/or private community/organization and other research institutions legally registered in Indonesia, excluding BRIN, must register with the Sistem Informasi Registrasi Lembaga Riset (SEBARIS) and comply with its requirement to meet the required administrative and legal obligations

Eligibility Criteria for Principal Investigator and members:

Indonesian researcher with the following criteria:

The Principal Investigator (PI) must be an Indonesian citizen;
The PI must hold at least a Master degree (S2) with active enrolment in a Doctoral degree (S3) program proven by a DBR Decree or Study Permit Certificate;
Applicants who are civil servants (ASN) shall continue to be dully assigned to their official duties and shall not have been relieved of or granted any exemption from such duties;
The PI and team members must have a research track record and expertise relevant to the proposed research/project or clearly defined roles in the research project of where their skill sets provide added value, as clearly stated in their Curriculum Vitae, with their research track record detailed in the research experience section;
The PI and team members are allowed to be involved in up to 3 (three) proposals for this Joint Call for Proposals, either as a Principal Investigator on 1 (one) proposal and a team member on 2 (two) proposal, or as a team member on 3 (three) proposals.
